A successful week at Softball

T1 Wk 5

On Tuesday the boys and girls softball teams attended the Eastern Zone tournament held at Auckland Domain.  It was an awesome day where both teams played up to 6 games of softball.  The girls placed fourth overall and our boys came out as OVERALL WINNERS!!!

They played Point England School in the final and even though it was very even they managed to come out on top.  A huge thanks to Mrs Key and Mr C for all their support and coaching in leading up to the tournament and also to Sandy, Mrs Key's mum, whom was a key supporter and coach on the actual day.

We also had Nicola and Shawn from Sport Auckland come in on Friday as part of their community consultation for KiwiSport funding and had a feedback session with some of our Yr 6, 7 and 8's.  Our students' responses will help to provide important feedback for KiwisSport funding.  All this will help to ensure Sport Auckland are providing the right sporting opportunities that meet the needs of our community.   Thanks to all those students that took part.

Lastly congratulations to the following players whom have made our EZ TAG teams - their competition will be held next Tuesday 10th March at Thompson Reserve.  These teams have been also busy training at lunchtimes.  Great stuff!!!
