Intermediate Challenge Netball Tournament

T3 Wk 6

On Sunday 30th August the Yr 8 mixed netball team participated in the AMI Auckland Intermediate Challenge Netball tournament.   The weather was dodgy but thankfully we managed to miss most of the big downpours.  The team played some solid netball and were definitely put to the test as they came up against some pretty tough competition from schools such as Te Atatu Intermediate, Waiheke High School, St Cuthbert's, ANI and St Thomas' School.

The team really came together on the day and they never once gave up.  Maybe it had something to do with the incredible sideline support and all the wonderful cheerleaders.  We managed to come third in our pool which was a fantastic effort!  Mrs Key and I would like to thank not only the 8 players who gave it their all on the day but also the family and friends that braved the weather and cheered on relentlessly this great little netball team.

EZ Boys League

Week 4 Term 3

What a great week of sport!  Mrs Key and I are blown away by the commitment, drive and passion that our students show when they represent our school in sports.

Final team talk with Coaches Mr C and Mr Timo

Today the Yr 7 & 8's have gone to Dunkirk Reserve to finally play in the Eastern Zone League Tournament.  This tournament has been plagued by bad weather and as a result was postponed twice.  As I type this blog it is pouring with rain and I can only think of the boys and Mr Timo out in this weather.  I'm sure they are all used to it and they will be playing their hearts and and representing their school with pride and mana.  Good luck boys!!!

Well done to all the Tamaki Cluster Netball teams - you all placed somewhere and we are thrilled at the results.  Many thanks to our parent help Olita Tawera and student teacher Sibille whom both came and coached our teams on the day.

Mrs Key is right this minute winging her way across to Sydney to watch the Netball World Cup.  How cool is that right?!  I just wish I was able to fit into her suitcase :)  Have fun Mrs Key and we can't wait to hear your personal account when you return to use next week.

On that note - go the AB's for tomorrow night and of course bring back the World Championship title the Silver Ferns!!!

Eastern Zone Netball

Week 3 - Term 3

This week 26 Year 7 and 8s went out to the Eastern Zone Netball Tournament.

The Yr 8 girls had some tough competition with their first round game against Baradene. They were coached and managed by Chook who made some great changes throughout the day and the girls finished on a win.

The Yr 7 girls were coached by Mary and they also did a great job throughout the day. Sharon was a standout putting in more than 100% effort in all of her games.

The Yr 8 boys finished top of their pool and ended up coming 3rd overall in their grade.

All the players put in a fantastic effort and showed great sportsmanship on the day.

Great work teams!

Mrs Key
